Northern Lights adventure Norway: nature’s light show

Ålesund is a port town on the west coast of Norway, at the entrance to the Geirangerfjord. It’s known for the art nouveau architectural style in which most of the town was rebuilt after a fire in 1904, as documented at the Jugendstilsenteret museum. There are panoramic views of Ålesund’s architecture, the surrounding archipelago and fjords from the Mount Aksla lookout.

Torghatten is a granite mountain on the island of Torget in Brønnøy Municipality in Nordland county, Norway. It is known for its characteristic hole, or natural tunnel, through its center. It is possible to walk up to the tunnel on a well-prepared path, and through it on a natural path.

Les habitants originaux étaient les Samis qui parcouraient les landes et les montagnes avec leurs troupeaux de rennes. Tromso a été le point de départ de beaucoup d’expéditions arctiques et a été surnommée la « passerelle vers l’Arctique ». Un peu plus au nord, se trouve le cap Nord, baptisé ainsi par l’anglais Richard Chancellor quand il voyagea le long de ces côtes glaciales en 1522. Le roi Oscar II fut le premier à faire l’ascension du sommet du plateau de Nordkapp en 1873, le seul moyen de passer le cap avant qu’une route soit créée.

Trondheim is a city on the Trondheim Fjord, in central Norway. Dating back to the 11th century, Gothic Nidaros Cathedral features an ornate rose window and a detailed west facade. Nearby, the Archbishop’s Palace Museum houses archaeological findings and sculptures, including gargoyles, removed from the cathedral. Ringve Museum is a music museum in a former manor house and barn.

The Geiranger Fjord is a fjord in the Sunnmøre region of Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is located entirely in the Stranda Municipality. It is a 15-kilometre -long branch off the Sunnylvsfjorden, which is a branch off the Storfjorden.

Stavanger is a city in southwestern Norway. In the center of town, Stavanger Cathedral dates back to the city’s 12th-century founding. Stavanger Museum chronicles the city’s history and displays preserved wildlife. The Norwegian Petroleum Museum illuminates the oil industry with submersibles, a large drill bit and an escape chute. The shopping street Øvre Holmegate is known for its colorful houses.
