In addition to wine tastings and a boat trip on the Moselle, you can go on a hike to Grevenburg, a ruin high up on the mountain, but the Buddha Museum should also be on the itinerary. Trier impresses with its buildings from Roman times – above all the well-preserved Porta Nigra. But the citys churches are also worth visiting. The oldest city in Germany was founded around the year 16 BC. Founded by the Romans under Emperor Augustus. Charlemagne made the city an archbishopric. In hardly any other German city are the legacies of the Romans so abundant as in Trier. You can even drink it in the form of wine. The wine terraces on the Moselle and Saar valleys look back on 2000 years of history.
